Learn with VEEP at YES! and VT FEST next weekend

VEEP educators are coming to YOU at two great events next weekend with hands-on workshops and learning for teachers and youth.

VT FEST, Vermont’s educational tech conference  |  Nov. 4–6, Killington, VT

Teachers: Come get a taste of our new Modeling Climate Science workshop with Jess Angell at VT Fest on Friday afternoon, Nov. 6. This conference focuses on innovative ideas and answers to the question: How can teachers, administrators and schools use educational technology to improve, enhance or extend learning opportunities for Vermont students, as well as be more effective and efficient? There will be a creation and innovation space to explore hands-on tools, roundtable discussions, cool workshops, exhibitors, and prizes. VEEP is also exhibiting, so come visit us and chat about how we can bring hands-on energy education for today’s world to your classroom.

LEAP with VEEP! Hands-on activities for kids at the LEAP Energy Fair, Saturday, April 11

Testing pinwheelsVEEP is coming to the LEAP Energy Fair on Saturday, April 11, at Crossett Crook Middle School in Duxbury. Educator Erin Malloy will be leading hands-on, minds-on activities for kids throughout the day. Young scientists, artists, and engineers can construct pinwheels, design and test sailboats, or decorate an eco-flag. Here’s the schedule:

  • 9–10 a.m.  Pinwheel construction
  • 10–11 a.m.  Sailboat design & construction
  • 11 a.m.–noon  Decorate an eco-flag
  • 1 –2 p.m.  Sailboat design & construction
  • 2–3 p.m.  Pinwheel construction
  • 3–4 p.m.  Decorate an eco-flag

Admission to the fair is free. Adults can check out exhibits, talk with energy experts, discuss new technologies, and come away with ideas for saving energy at home.

Build cars, race boats, and ride bikes with VEEP on April 11

solar carsVEEP is coming to the Sustainable Living Expo on Saturday, April 11, at Middlebury Union High School, with a full menu of hands-on, minds-on activities for kids throughout the day. Come explore electricity at our hands-on generation stations, engineer a boat with superior sails, or build and test a solar car that you can “walk” on a leash. Admission to the kids’ activities is free with your $5 admission to the Expo.
