VEEP is Hiring: Program Manager for the New Hampshire Energy Education Project

 

VEEP has provided hands-on/minds-on energy education experiences for teachers and students in grades K-12 throughout Vermont since 1979. Our programs use multiple learning pathways to engage students in problem-solving challenges to help them understand energy and the effects of its use on society and the environment. VEEP has an anticipated vacancy for a full-time Program Manager to deliver VEEP programs to schools in New Hampshire.

The Program Manager will:

  • Lead professional development trainings for teachers of grades K–12 statewide in New Hampshire.
  • Deliver VEEP’s hands-on energy and climate science workshops in classrooms in New Hampshire.
  • Help introduce teachers and community groups to VEEP’s offerings, including contacting teachers and school administrators to develop opportunities for workshops in schools, presenting at school faculty meetings, and developing relationships with schools and other partners throughout the region.

VEEP has provided hands-on/minds-on energy education experiences for teachers and students in grades K-12 throughout Vermont since 1979. Our programs use multiple learning pathways to engage students in problem-solving challenges to help them understand energy and the effects of its use on society and the environment. VEEP is recruiting a full-time Director of Education to oversee VEEP’s education programs for K-12 students and teachers statewide throughout Vermont and into New Hampshire.

The Director of Education will:

  • Assure that all of VEEP’s programming is of high quality and provides excellent learning opportunities for students.
  • Be or become an expert in 2-3 of the following: NGSS, energy and climate content, proficiency-based learning, personalized learning plans, and project-based learning. Be prepared to align VEEP offerings with standards and to assist Vermont classroom teachers in developing aligned curriculum.
  • Train VEEP energy educators in pedagogy best practices and provide constructive feedback on educators’ work.
  • Collaboratively develop and update energy and climate change curricula and presentations for delivery in Vermont classrooms. Occasionally deliver VEEP classroom workshops in schools.
