What are these? VEEP has 5 hands-on workshops intended for an adult audience, geared to get a local conversation going about energy and climate, with a focus on what we all can DO.  Themes include transportation, weatherization, electricity generation and the grid, home electrification, and basic climate science.

Who are they for? The workshops aim to help regular folks understand how these sometimes complex systems work, and what we, as individuals or as a community, can do to make changes that reduce emissions. We especially hope to work with communities that are beginning local initiatives to help more residents understand why these changes need to be made.  By offering incentives (like grocery gift cards), we hope to make these events more appealing and accessible to lower and middle income households.

How will this work? Towns or energy committees, or other interested residents, would host one of these workshops at a local library, community center or other public space.  Local residents take on the responsibility of publicizing it in whatever way makes best sense for the community. VEEP staff would bring the equipment and present the workshop, and help connect the hosts with an action partner–a person or organization.
